Welcome to Secrest!

It is an honor that you have chosen Secrest as your children's school. Here at Secrest, we strive to do everything in our power to ensure that your children have a positive learning experience that prepares them to become compassionate, self-motivated, and skilled citizens.

I grew up in Switzerland and after completing my Baccalaureate in Economics at 19, I moved to Boston for college. I graduated with a B.S. in Bilingual Education from Boston University and later completed my M.A. in Educational Leadership at the University of Denver.

I began my career as a high school ELD/Bilingual teacher and department head in a public school district outside of Boston. I then moved to Guatemala to become the principal of a community school on Lake Atitlan in 2005. Since my husband's family lived in Colorado, we moved back here for our son Max to start high school in 2009. I had the privilege of being hired at Secrest in 2015, and it has been a joy to be part of its long-standing tradition of excellence.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy hiking, biking, skiing and running our little urban homestead that includes gardens, chickens, quail, and rabbits. To stay connected to my roots, I'm using my great-grandmother's recipe books to learn how to bake bread and cure European meats and sausages.

As your instructional leader, my main responsibility is your children’s well-being and learning as well as providing the corresponding support to our team. That is why you will rarely find me in the office during the school day. If you want to get in touch with me, please check in with our Family Liaison, Ms. Holly, or our Executive Secretary, Ms. Sandy, to make an appointment. You can also leave me a voicemail, and I will gladly return your call. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. You are their first teacher, and together we will ensure that “Every student is growing and succeeding every day!"
